Dr Arthur participates in the Known Gap scheme, your out‑of‑pocket costs are capped and disclosed to you in advance (up to $500). Medicare and your private health fund will cover the majority of the surgeon’s fee.

🌼 For Patients Having Surgery for Cancer

If your operation is for a colon or rectal cancer diagnosis, Dr Arthur does not charge any out‑of‑pocket expenses for your procedures.

  • This means no Known Gap fee

  • No additional surgeon charges beyond what Medicare and your health fund cover

Anaesthetist fee:

Your Anaesthetist may charge an out-of-pocket fee. This fee is usually calculated on the length and complexity of your operation.  You will be given an estimate of this cost prior to your surgery directly from the anaesthetic group scheduled for your surgery.

Assistant fee:

A medical surgical assistant is a qualified practitioner that assists throughout the operation, working at all times under the direction of Dr Arthur. They may charge a separate out-of-pocket fee.
